Service Volunteers

CPL's service volunteers can help with programs like art and crafts, music and dancing in their local centre and make a difference to someone's day.

You can work directly with our clients to support them to achieve their goals - or you can help us at our many locations in a variety of volunteer roles such as facility maintenance, quality assurance or administration.

As a service volunteer, you can:

  • Support clients to go on outings, like a trip on the CityCat, a walk in the park or a group lunch
  • Support clients to get involved in fun activities, like arts, crafts and music
  • Lend a hand in gardening or maintenance
  • Provide general admin support
  • Plus much more!

Who can apply?
Anyone - although you must be willing to volunteer at least once a week for a minimum of 3 months.

What will you get from volunteering at our services?
Volunteering at one of our services means you will be directly supporting people with disabilities to live the life they choose! You can have a real impact on someone's day, week and life. This is your chance to share your skills with our clients and support them to grow their abilities. Boy in wheelchair with male therapist both smiling

Volunteering is also a great way to get hands on experience if you're looking for a career in the disability sector.

“You can tell people about it but you can’t describe the satisfaction you get and how good it feels to give something back to others after a successful career.” - David Macklin, volunteer at CPL's New Farm service

“I got one-on-one support and got to work on real world campaigns where I actually made a difference and contributed to the result. It was perfect for my portfolio. I just got a job in digital marketing and they told me it was because I had the right experience."
