Hello

Following two confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Gold Coast today, the Queensland Government has expanded directive  to cover the Gold Coast City Council region. From tomorrow, there will be restrictions in place for all CPL services, to keep you and your family, and our employees, healthy and safe.

While my team has been in touch with many of you who have services scheduled this weekend, I wanted to provide you with a further detailed update of the new measures.

From today, you will notice CPL employees wearing masks when delivering all services. This measure has been introduced to provide the best possible protection, alongside social distancing and good hygiene, for you and your family.

In line with the government’s directive, the following measures will be introduced from 8am tomorrow:

  • Visitors will not be allowed onsite until further notice
  • Contractors will not be allowed onsite until further notice
  • All employees will continue to have their temperature checked and signing a declaration form before beginning their shift
  • All employees will continue to wear PPE throughout their shift, with the addition of aprons.

We encourage everyone to make considered choices on if you need to leave home and where and how you spend time in the community as outlined below.

CPL will continue to provide you with support to access your community, however, we recommend outings for essential purposes only this weekend. If you have essential trips, please:

  • Avoid high traffic areas such as busy shopping centres
  • Don’t visit a location where social distancing can’t be followed
  • Wear a mask if you would like to  – CPL can provide one for you
  • Practice good hand and respiratory hygiene

Our SIC centres will continue to operate  with reduced numbers. However, due to the community transmission of this current outbreak, if you can stay home, we encourage you to do so.

The following measures will be in place:

  • All employees will wear PPE (masks and gloves)
  • Social distancing will remain in place
  • All visitors will have their temperatures taken and will complete a health declaration form

Allied Health services will continue to operate. You can change your appointment to telehealth at any time.

The following measures will be in place:

  • Therapists will be wearing PPE (masks and gloves) during all therapy sessions
  • Therapists will wear full PPE for any mealtime assessment or mealtime therapy sessions
  • Numbers will be restricted to one parent or carer attending the sessions
  • Social distancing rules will apply
  • All visitors to complete a health declaration form and have temperature taken

With the community transmission of this current cluster unknown, the Chief Health Officer has reiterated the need to get tested if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. If you are feeling unwell and have a shift coming up, please let us know so we can work with you to make the appropriate arrangements.

We will closely monitor this outbreak over the coming days and will communicate any changes or updates with you as they arise.  We encourage you to stay up to date with the Queensland Government announcements on their website here.
