CPL is pleased to collaborate with Brisbane City Council and The Little Red Company for the 2023 Lord Mayor's Christmas Carols to provide a VIP Preview Night on Friday 1 December.

Each year, Brisbane’s Riverstage comes alive for the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols.  Attended by some 7,000 people, the event has become a favourite for families to kick off the holiday festivities.  Importantly, the Carols are progressively focusing on inclusion for all people, with some of the most comprehensive access provisions for people with disability of any event in Brisbane. 

The VIP Preview Night is free and is tailored to cater to people with access requirements such as mobility and low vision, making it easier for you and your family to enjoy the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols.

The Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols VIP Preview Night accessibility includes: 

  • Audio description 
  • A pre-show tactile tour 
  • Auslan interpretation 
  • Accessible seating and bathrooms  
  • Riverstage's first ever Low Sensory Zone
  • A dedicated breakout area for companion dogs 
  • View the performance from the flat floor concrete space in front of the stage 
  • Dedicated VIP entrance 

The Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols is hosted at Brisbane’s Riverstage, a large outdoor venue with uneven and sloped ground. Acknowledging this environment is challenging for people with physical access requirements, CPL are delighted to collaborate with Brisbane City Council and The Little Red Company to provide an alternative option and offer this unique opportunity to people wishing to enjoy this event with additional flexibility.  

Attendees are welcome to bring a picnic blanket and a small bag with snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. There will be no food or beverages for sale at the event.  

The VIP Preview Night is free! However, registration is required to ensure you receive important event day information.
