Maybe you or someone you know has bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, which have taken the world by storm as a fast-growing and increasingly popular currency option.

Essentially known as digital money, there are over 5000 different cryptocurrencies available and over 106 million people using and exchanging digital money in today’s market.

While this form of currency can be used to purchase goods and services, many of its users—especially those in Australia—are opting to use it for investing as it is a currency that lives online.

But did you know that you are now able to donate to a number of charities using this digital currency? A handful of charities are now accepting cryptocurrency donations. CPL Manager, Corporate and Community Partnerships Pete Breuer said digital money is changing the way funds can be generated for inclusivity.

“Cryptocurrency is fairly new ground for charities in Australia.

“At CPL– Choice, Passion, Life, we recently partnered with The Giving Block, which allows us to accept donations in over 70 cryptocurrencies,” Mr Breuer said.

“The added option for donations helps us to continue to break down barriers and invest in new, and innovative projects designed to create an inclusive society for people living with disability – something that CPL are passionate about.”
